A Monkey in the Rocks

Today was something of a February anomaly for central Ohio. In the direct sun it was warm and even as hard as the wind was blowing it wasn't unbearable. Since the wife is still not moving quite as fast as before the knee thing and the Monkey was bored out of her mind I said, "Hey, do you want to go hunting?" This was, of course met with glee and she bounded down the hall to find her camo John Deere shirt (her hunting shirt) and her pink high-top Converse. (Hunting shoes) Couple all of this with the bright pink coat and you have my girl the hunter. Momma was fine with us stepping out for a while and I loaded the girl and headed down the road.

On the way I asked what it was she wanted to hunt today. "Rocks" was all I got back. "Ah", I though, "one of those days." The wind was blowing harder out by the park than at the house but she toughed it out anyway. Man, when she is determined you just have to go with it. A trophy hunter is a trophy hunter I guess, weather be damned. Anyhow here are some good shots. It was fun to be outside for a while. It turns out she may be my new favorite part of the hunting thing. We'll see I guess....

Here's the Monkey posing by the rail, about to discover she is standing on....

ROCKS! Woo Hoo!

Here is the monkey, perched on her rest waiting for the big one to, uh..., walk by?

And here she is with the trophy. We had to flush him out of the bush by hand.. He's a big one though and worth the effort...

There are not many things better than an hour or two, in the outdoors with the girl of your dreams. Here are a couple of other shots I just happened to snap along the way.

Casting the old rocks into the creek to "send them home"

Nothing finishes off a day outside like a shake from the milkshake store...
