Kestrel Prototyping

Since about June last year I really haven't been able to do much with or make much in the way of knives. It's a great hobby but just too time consuming with little youngsters running around and life ramping up as it tends to, year over year. Anyhow, today was different. I managed to get some time in the shop with just my pad, my thoughts, and some knife steel. After a few things went wrong, this popped out.

Not bad for the first three hours with some new design ideas I had. Thus far they seem to work well but there is a lot of work to do before we can call it done. I really like the look of it so I am hopeful I like the use of it too so I can make more. Long and slender and curvy... Just what the Dr ordered. :) More on this later I am sure. For now, time to sand and pack it to go to Heat Treatment. Thanks for looking. -JP
