When rules about my otherwise very demanding gig is that when they talk about vacation benefits, they don't scrimp. The same goes with holidays. MLK day this year found me out and about having a trip into the cedars to make some fire and try out a reflector. It worked stellarly and the noodle raman was excellent as always.
I had a great time until the sleet started to fly so I packed and ran. The drive home is about 90 miles and in the slickery Ohio winter it can take forever... Anyhow, enjoy and thanks for looking.

Bush Day #1, 2011
2011 started with a great day out. The excellent combination of gift cards and gifts left me with a pile of stuff to augment the gear I already have in place. The Bank Gang gave us a floaoting holiday for new years and Tuesday was my day.... I headed for my trees in southern Ohio.
The morning clouds...

The new trailblaer buck saw... Thanks for the cash Mamaw. :)

The Barkie split and stuck the firesteel like a champ. The thing is just amazing.

My fire... #1 for the year.

Cooking some noodles in my itty bitty billy pot.

Mmmm... chicken noodle Ramen.

The afternoodle coffee prep...

and a Clemintine for desert.

Back before the holiday, I picked up an ENO hammock and slap strap set and had never tried it out so....

I hung it in the trees and got in. :)

Excellent view. :)

Feathering some cedar with the Bravo1...

Lights right up with the firesteel. Man, I love that barkie.

Same excercise with the new necker and fatwood...

Man, do I love fatwood.

Sunset driving home... perfect day.

One more Barkie Shot, just because I can....

Thanks for looking. Take care,

...and if you get lost, come on home to Bark River...
Our bushknife search continues here and with the recent holiday season and calender change, I figured it was time to make a switch. So I sold a Turley and aquired, via whatever process :) , a couple of Barkies.

That's a Bravo1 in front there and the Bravo necker in back. So far, I have unpacked them and held them.... but Tuesday, they go on a trip with me to the woods. We'll see how they do.

They shipped with kydex and that will have to go but otherwise, they are top notch bits of fit and finish. So far, so good. More, later this week.
